Our weekly after-school program for 3rd-8th graders inspires students to be confident and empathetic readers by:
- Engaging in peer discussions
- Digging deeper through creative book projects
- Playing book-related games
- Exposing students to a variety of genres
Book clubs make reading FUN for both bookworms and reluctant readers and let students develop their comprehension & analysis skills. Over the course of a session, students will meet once per week for one hour and read 3-4 books. The books are decided ahead of time and purchased for students. Most of the reading is done at home so that Book Club time is focused on discussion, reflection, and activities.
